The National Soccer Coaches Association of America recently released its 2015 NCAA Division III Preseason Women's Poll and Lake Forest College was listed 14th.
After posting a 21-1-0 record and reaching the second round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, the Foresters lost just one player to graduation. They had been ranked as high as 10th in the country before finishing the season at 17.
The 21 wins on the year are six more than the previous program record of 15 set in 1996. The team also shattered the school record for goals in a season with 79, surpassing the previous mark of 58 even before playing host to the Midwest Conference Tournament and the first two rounds of the NCAA Tourney. In all, 15 program records were broken or tied by the end of the season.
The 2015 season will be the 19th for Lake Forest Head Coach T.R. Bell, who graduated from the College in 1996. He is 199-117-10 overall and 123-37-6 in the conference during his career.
After a scrimmage with #18 Wheaton College on August 29, the Foresters will open the regular season with a home game against Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday, September 1, at 5:00 p.m. (full schedule)
