Lake Forest College women's soccer player Becky Esrock was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to a pair of shutouts last week.
Esrock, a junior sweeper, scored a pair of goals during the team's 5-0 victory over visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday. She also anchored a Forester defense that allowed just eight shots in the contest.
Lake Forest resumed conference play with a 4-0 blanking of Knox College at home on Saturday. Esrock and the rest of the Forester defense surrendered just one shot in the contest.
The Foresters are 8-0-1 since Esrock moved to sweeper.
She moved into fifth place in program history with 89 career points and she is now tied for third in team annals with 37 career goals.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Esrock earned the award on offense twice as a freshman.
