The Lake Forest College women's hockey team turned in its second seven-score performance of the weekend Saturday night, prevailing 7-1 at Finlandia University.
Senior forward Samantha Shoebottom finished the night with four points on a goal and three assists. She now leads the Foresters with seven points on the season.
Sophomore forward Lauren Wensel and senior forward Marissa Gebauer each netted a pair of goals on Saturday and share the team lead with four this year.
Lake Forest senior forward Stokli Ashcraft started the scoring with her first goal of the season and senior defenseman Karya Dean converted a power play opportunity in the third for her second tally of 2022-23. Ashcraft also had an assist while junior defenseman Grace Garby and sophomore forward Anna McCluskey each set up a pair of goals.
The Foresters outshot the Lions 58-8 and senior goaltender Hannah Turnage made seven saves in her 20th career victory.
Lake Forest improved to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in Northerh Collegiate Hockey Association play while Finlandia fell to 0-10-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the league.
After prevailing 7-0 at Northland College Friday night and 7-1 at Finlandia on Saturday, the Foresters will close out a busy weekend with another game at Finlandia Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (ET).
