Lake Forest College's Marissa Gebauer was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after posting a pair of three-point performances against Concordia University Wisconsin over the weekend.
Gebauer scored two of her team's first three goals in Friday night's 6-1 triumph on the road. The junior forward's tally at the 11:32 mark of the opening period tied the game and her power play goal just 22 seconds into the second stanza made the score 3-1 in favor of the visitors. She added an assist as the Foresters converted another power play opportunity later in the period.
Lake Forest defeated the Falcons 5-3 in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday night and Gebauer once again factored into the scoring three times. She was responsible for the game's opening goal at the 7:12 mark of the first period and assisted on the home team's final two scores of the evening.
They were the second and third three-point games of Gebauer's collegiate career. She now leads the team with nine goals and a dozen points after 12 games this season.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league office. Gebauer also earned the award as a freshman in February of 2020.
