Freshman Gabrielle Krebs of women's golf and sophomore Kyle Lassen were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for their performances in their respective competitions over spring break.
Krebs led Lake Forest both days at the Shenandoah Spring Invite. After carding an 82 on Thursday Day 1, she matched her season-best score and the fifth-lowest round in team history with a 76 on Friday. Her second round included five birdies. Gabrielle was the tournament's individual runner-up and her 158 at the event matched the fourth-best 36-hole score in program history.
Lassen earned four points for the Foresters against four different teams over the course of the team's week-long spring break trip. Lassen's wins included two singles wins; he prevailed 7-6(6-3),6-0 against Greenville University and 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 against Dickinson College. Playing #3 doubles, Lassen and his partner Eduardo Manuitt won 8-4 against Shenandoah University and then 8-6 against Asbury University.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. Krebs was named athlete of the week twice before, once on September 6 and once on October 11, 2022. This is the first time Lassen has earned the distinction.
