Foresters Place 10th at Midwest Region Classic

Foresters Place 10th at Midwest Region Classic

The Lake Forest College women's golf team was in action for the fourth consecutive day on Monday, finishing 10th out of 24 teams at the 36-hole Midwest Region Classic at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.

Freshman Gabrielle Krebs led the Foresters and placed eighth out of 117 players overall with a two-day score of 164. Her 77 in round two tied for the second-lowest score in Monday's field and included a birdie and 11 pars. It also matched her top score of the season and the seventh-best mark in team history.

Fellow freshman Ashlyn Bahtia was next on the team and tied-for-40th in the tournament at 177 while freshman Sydney Foulon and sophomore Emma Ackland were two shots behind her and tied-for-48th.

Aurora University was the team champion with a 36-hole total of 634, six strokes clear of runner-up Augustana College. Lake Forest's 699 is the sixth-lowest two-day score in program history.

The Foresters will not compete again until the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships October 8-10 at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois.
