The Lake Forest College women's golf team finished second at the Forester Spring Invite on Saturday, despite have three of the top six individual golfers in the field.
A pair of Forester freshmen finished among the top three. Chloe Morrissey tied for the low round of the day with an 86 while Makayla Sanchez was two shots back and in third place. Morrissey's eight pars led the 27-player field while Sanchez finished with five pars and a birdie on the par-5 14th hole.
Senior Amanda Lee was next for the home team and tied-for-fourth with an 89. She was one of just two players in the tournament with two birdies and she needed just 38 strokes (+2) to complete the final nine holes.
Junior Grace Black rounded out the Foresters' scorers with a season-best 104 and senior Makenzie Kamm carded a 116.
Lake Forest's team score of 367 was just four shots behind first place Elmhurst University.
The Foresters will travel to Dretzka Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Sunday for the Carroll Classic.
