Lake Forest College women's basketball player Katie Neher was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday. It was her second consecutive selection and fourth this season.
Neher helped lead the Foresters to a pair of victories last week, beginning with Tuesday night's 83-64 triumph at Mount Mary University. She led all players in the game with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 steals and also added 8 assists.
The Foresters prevailed 97-88 in overtime at Beloit College on Saturday and Neher was the game's leading scorer again with 26 points. She also grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds, the most by any player in the conference this season, and dished out 8 more assists.
Neher leads the league and ranks among the top 20 in the nation with 20.6 points per game this season. She is also fifth in the conference with 8.0 rebounds and sixth with 3.2 assists per contest.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Neher has now earned the award four times this season.
