The Lake Forest College track team is at Illinois College this weekend for the two-day Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet.
The Forester men earned a point in both of Friday's relays. Freshman Tucker Forrest, junior Rayan Khalid, freshman Ido Zimbelman, and senior Lionel Whitehead finished eighth in the sprint medley relay in 3:57.69 and freshman Trentyn Tyson, Khalid, freshman Mason Wright, and Forrest took the same place in the 4x200m relay. Their time of 1:38.41 ranks them second in team history.
Lake Forest also earned a point in the women's sprint medley relay. Freshmen AJ Jones, Angelina Ristic-Tesanovic, and Jacquelyn Han joined sophomore Delfina Jorgensen for the program's third-best time (4:575.44).
Jones turned in the team's best performance in an individual event, covering 60m in 8.19 seconds. She owns the meet's sixth-fastest time going into Saturday's final.
Freshman Jermaine Robinson led the Forester men in the 60m with a time of 7.49 seconds, which ranks him fifth in team annals.
Other highlights on day one of the competition included Han's continued improvement in the hurdles. She posted a season-best clocking of 10.71 seconds.
Senior Jake Reid placed in the top half of the field in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 8.5 inches.
Saturday's events will begin at 10:30 a.m.
