Senior John Snider won twice but the Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 5-4 by Ursinus College in Winter Haven, Florida, on Thursday.
Snider and sophomore Dan Pivonka posted a 9-8 (7-4) victory at #1 doubles but the Foresters trailed 2-1 going into singles play.
The first three singles matches to finish each went to the Bears. Snider earned a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at #3 and junior Ellis Lora-Arceo took both sets 6-4 at #4. Freshman Trevor Allen then closed out the contest with a 4-6, 6-4, (10-8) win at #2.
Lake Forest split its four matches in as many days this week in the Orlando, Florida, area. Snider was 3-1 on the week in singles and a perfect 4-0 in doubles play. Lora-Arceo won all four of his singles contests while spltting his four doubles matches and Allen was 3-1 in each format.
The Foresters are now 6-6 overall this season while Ursinus remained undefeated in four matches.
Lake Forest will host Augustana College next Saturday (March 19) afternoon at 4:00 at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
