Lake Forest College men's tennis player John Snider was named Midwest Conference Co-Performer of the Week on Tuesday after winning all five of his matches against league opponents over the weekend.
Snider began the weekend by teaming with freshman Dan Pivonka on an 8-6 victory against the #1 doubles team at Knox College Saturday morning. Snider also prevailed 6-2, 6-1 at #2 singles in the Foresters' 9-0 win. The team traveled to Illinois College in the afternoon and Snider did not lose a game at the same spot in the singles lineup. Lake Forest cruised to another 9-0 victory in the contest.
Snider and Pivonka were victorious in doubles again at Monmouth College on Sunday, defeating the Fighting Scots' top tandem 8-3. Snider then finished off the perfect weekend by coming back for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph in singles. Monmouth, however, took the match 6-3.
With a 15-6 singles record this spring, including a 5-1 mark at #2, Snider is second on the team in victories. He and Pivonka are 8-5 since teaming up at #1 doubles during the team's Spring Break trip.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Snider, who also earned the league's weekly award once last season, shared the honor this time with Pater Jaeger of Carroll University.
