The Forester men's tennis team was defeated 8-1 by Denison University, the 30th-ranked team in the country, on Monday. It was the first of four matches for the Foresters during their spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Lake Forest's lone point came at #1 singles, where sophomore Ryan Kreis came back to win after dropping the first set 6-4. He won the second set 6-3 and took the decisive super tiebreak 10-7. Denison's top player was ranked 11th in the Central Region and 49th in the nation last November.
Kreis raised his singles record this spring to 7-1 but fell to 6-2 in doubles.
The Foresters are now 3-5 on the season while Denison is still undefeated after three contests.
Lake Forest will be back in action tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (EST) against Mississippi College.
