The Lake Forest College men's tennis team prevailed 6-3 over Elmhurst College and 8-1 over host St. Norbert College on Saturday. Senior Jon Flaksman was one of three Foresters to sweep their four matches on the day.
Flaksman and freshman John Kreis started the day with an 8-1 rout of Elmhurst's #2 doubles team. Junior Elliot Muth and sophomore John Adams defeated the top Bluejay duo 8-5 and Lake Forest's #3 team of senior Chris Paterakos and sophomore Kevin Lasky won by the same score.
Kreis, Adams, and Flaksman were also triumphant against Elmhurst in singles play. Kreis won 6-3, 6-4 at #1, Adams edged out his opponent 6-2, 2-6, (10-7) at #3, and Flaksman posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory at #4.
The Foresters fielded the same lineup against St. Norbert and registered 8-2 and 8-1 victories at #1 and #2 doubles, respectively.
Kries finished off his perfect day with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #1 singles and Muth prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at #2. Adams needed a third-set tiebreak again in his 2-6, 6-3, (10-7) decision at #3 while Flaksman cruised 6-1 in both sets at #4. Paterakos matched Muth's score at #5 and Lasky won 6-1, 6-4 at #6.
Elmhurst fell to 2-2 on the season and St. Norbert to 3-3.
The Foresters will travel to Texas next weekend and play at UT-Tyler Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
