Lake Forest College men's soccer player Mahir Mameledzija was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday after recording his second hat trick of the season the previous Saturday.
The Foresters hosted and defeated Ripon College 3-1 and all three scores came off the foot of Mameledzija, who netted his first of the day at the 29:46 mark. Just 42 seconds passed before the league's leading scorer struck again and the home team led 2-0 at halftime.
After the Red Hawks got on the scoreboard in the second half, Lake Forest regained its two-goal cushion on Mameledzija's third score of the game and 15th this season at 74:57.
Mameledzija leads the country with 32 points and he is tied for the national lead in goals. His 41 career goals rank third in program history and his 96 points are fourth.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Mameledzija also earned the award on September 10 and once during each of his first two seasons.
