The Forester men's golf team earned its second tournament victory in three events this spring, finishing first in Monday's 16-team Judson Invitational.
Sophomore Max Golding was Lake Forest's top player at the event with a four-over 75 on the 6,598-yard course at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois. He tied for sixth place in the field of 98 players with a round that included three birdies, as well as an eagle on the 600-yard, par-5 ninth hole.
Playing as an individual, junior Ryan Higgins played the final eight holes in even-par and carded a 76 to tie for eighth place.
Senior Connor Lindley and sophomore Chris Petri were tied-for-14th overall with matching 77s while senior James Johnson was tied-for-19th a shot behind them.
Lake Forest was 23 shots over par as a team, two strokes better than runner-up University of Dubuque. North Park University (+27) was third and Loras College (+20) fourth.
The team's next event will be the annual Forester Spring Invite this Friday. The event will begin at noon at White Deer Run Golf Course in nearby Vernon Hills.
