The Foresters tied for ninth place out of 27 teams at Sunday and Monday's Midwest Region Classic at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
Seniors James Johnson and Carlos Garcia Bodini led Lake Forest and tied for 14th at the 148-player event with two-day scores of 150. Johnson carded an eagle on the 16th hole on Sunday and played the tournament's par-5s in 4-under. His 74 in the opening round and 76 on Monday are his lowest scores so far this season. Garcia Bodini, who had an eagle each day, matched Johnson's marks to set his collegiate best by seven strokes.
Forester sophomore Chris Petri was next on the team and tied-for-19th overall at 151. His 75 on Monday was a shot better than Sunday's 76 and he finished the tournament with five birdies.
Forester junior Ryan Higgins tied for 34th overall at 155. He had three birdies on Sunday and avoided a score worse than bogey throughout the event.
Senior Jack Dwyer tied for 47th place at 158 and sophomore Luke Duffer tied for 57th after turning in a pair of 80s on the 6,668-yard, par-72 course.
North Park University's two-day score of 593 was the best in the field by nine shots. Lake Forest posted a 310 on Sunday and a 313 on Monday to tie with St. Norbert College for ninth place.
The Foresters will close out the fall at next weekend's UW-Stout Fall Invitational. The tournament will be played at Grand Geneva Resort with Sunday's opening round being played on The Highlands and Monday's on The Brute.
