With the top seven teams separated by just five strokes, Lake Forest men's golf finished in a tie for fourth place at Saturday's Wisconsin Lutheran Spring Invitational.
The one-day tournament was played at the 6,8-2-yard, par-72 course at Morningstar Golf Club in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Junior Jack Dwyer was the Foresters' top player and tied-for-second overall with a round of 74. He started the front and back nines with birdies and had a dozen pars in his round.
Playing as individuals, junior Anthony Scaletta and freshman Luke Duffer posted season-best scores of 76 and 77, respectively, which tied them for 10th and 16th.
Sophomore Ryan Higgins matched Duffer with a 77. He was 4-over after four holes but just 1-over the rest of the way.
Just three of the event's 71 players had more than three birdies on Saturday and all three were from Lake Forest. Sophomore Marty Swab led the field with five during his round of 80 and juniors Connor Lindley and James Johnson each carded four. Lindley also had an 80 and tied for 29th place overall while Johnson's 81 ranked tied-for-32nd.
Milwaukee School of Engineering won the 12-team event with a four-man score of 309, one shot better than runners-up Edgewood College and St. Norbert College. Lake Forest and Bryant and Stratton College were next at 311.
The Foresters will be back in action next Tuesday at the Carthage Spring Invitational, which will be played at the Kenosha Country Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
