Lake Forest College's Trenton Brail was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday after helping lead the Foresters to a 48-14 victory over visiting Knox College on Saturday.
Brail, a junior safety, registered the fourth-longest interception return in program history on the final play of the first half. He picked off the pass at the Forester 19-yardline and scampered 81 yards for a touchdown to make the score 34-7.
Brail contributed to another interception earlier in the contest. His well-timed hit of the Prairie Fire receiver dislodged the ball, which ended up in the hands of Lake Forest linebacker Dylan Pedersen. The Foresters scored two plays later to take a 14-0 lead.
In addition to the turnovers, Brail also made four tackles on the day, including his first career tackle for loss.
D3football.com began naming a Team of the Week in 1999 and Brail is the 23rd Lake Forest player to be honored. He was also named Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
