D3football.com released it's 2019 All-Region Teams on Tuesday and three Foresters were included on the list.
Senior Jordan McInerney was a First Team All-West Region selection after leading the team with 76 tackles and ranking second in the nation with 14.5 sacks and fourth with 22.0 tackles for loss. The three-time member of the D3football.com Team of the Week was also named First Team All-Midwest Conference and the MWC Defensive Line Most Valuable Player after the regular season and was announced as a First Team All-American honoree by the American Football Coaches Association last week.
Freshman wide receiver A.J. Jackson joined McInerney on the First Team for his performance as a kick returner. He led the nation with 939 yards on kickoff and punt returns combined and his 22.5 yards per punt return was the best mark in the country as well. Jackson was also seventh in the nation with 28.8 yards per kickoff return and fifth with 176.7 all-purpose yards per game. He was a First Team All-MWC selection as a wide receiver and kick returner.
Freshman defensive back Danny Baker was named Third Team All-Region for his role on Lake Forest's special teams units. He blocked three punts this season and made six tackles on kickoff returns and one on a punt return.
The Foresters' three selections are tied for the most in team history, matching the 2016 squad's total. In addition, Jackson and Baker are the first freshmen at the College to earn all-region honors.
Lake Forest finished the 2019 season 7-3 overall and 4-1 in MWC North Division play.
