Lake Forest College football player Bryce Jones was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to a 20-16 victory over Lawrence University on Saturday.
Jones, a junior outside linebacker, recorded eight tackles in the game, including 4.0 tackles for loss (three solos, two assisted tackles) and a pair of sacks. He ended one Viking drive in the red zone by forcing a fumble and another by sacking the quarterback just before the first half clock expired.
Jones is now tied for third on the team with a dozen tackles this season. His 54 career tackles include 10.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
