The Forester women's cross country team finished fifth and the men seventh at Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday.
The meet was held at Reid Golf Course in Appleton, Wisconsin, and the men's 8-kilometer race was first. Senior Christian Reyes led Lake Forest and placed 41st out of 116 runners overall with a time of 28:14. Senior Julián Cano was next on the team with a time of 29:31.9 and freshman Michael Kurtz followed in 29:39.1.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh was the men's team champion with 31 points while the Foresters finished seventh with 183.
Lake Forest junior Madeline Morland was the runner-up in the women's race, completing the 6-kilometer course in 23:29.6. Graduate student Audrey Paglia's time of 24:56.7 was good for 18th place in the 92-runner field while freshman Delfina Jorgensen was 42nd in 26:39.9.
Lawrence finished first in the women's team standings with 30 points, edging out Ripon College by 16 points. The Foresters were fifth with 141.
Lake Forest will be in action against next Saturday at the University of Wiconsin-La Crosse's Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational.
