Sophomore forward Morgan Pope scored the game winning goal at 13:07 of the third period to give the Lake Forest women's hockey team a 2-1 victory over visiting Adrian College on Sunday at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
With the victory, Lake Forest (9-2-4, 6-1-4 NCHA) has now won its seventh straight game. Adrian drops to 14-5 overall and 9-5 in the NCHA.
Adrian got on the board first just 23 seconds into game before the Foresters tied the game at 7:24 of the second period on a power play goal by sophomore forward Laura Reckdenwald. Sarah Gilbride assisted on the goal.
Pope's game winner also came with the Foresters on the power play and was assisted by sophomore defenseman Erin Shamley.
Lake Forest goalie Stacey Dierking made 21 saves while her counterpart Brittany Zeches stopped 25 shots.
The Foresters travel to St. Scholastica on Friday and Saturday night for a 4 p.m. game on Friday and a 2 p.m. game on Saturday.
