Sophomore forward Bridget Bilek scored 10 points and led the Foresters with four assists as the Lake Forest College women's basketball team fell 74-44 to visiting Ripon College on Saturday.
Bilek and sophomore guard Hannah O'Day tied for the team lead in scoring and O'Day's four rebounds matched sophomore forward Paige Bobos for the Foresters' highest individual total.
Lake Forest shot just 25.5 percent from the field while Ripon connected on 43.3 percent of field goal attempts. The Foresters were also out-rebounded 53-29 and committed 23 of the game's 44 turnovers.
The home team led by as many as five points in the first quarter and by one at 13-12 after 10 minutes of play. The Red Hawks, however, scored the first 13 points of the second quarter and pulled away for a 36-20 halftime lead.
The margin grew to as many as 30 points late in the third quarter and the Foresters trailed by at least 25 throughout the fourth.
The loss leaves Lake Forest with a 3-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in Midwest Conference play. Ripon improved to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the league.
The Foresters will host a pair of conference games next weekend. They will take on Grinnell College Friday evening at 5:30 and Knox College at 1:00 Saturday afternoon.
