Senior Philip Wilson's victory in the 3000 highlighted the Foresters' performance Saturday at Ripon College's Dick Hendricks Invitational.
Wilson won by more than 17 seconds with a time of 9:05.11. Finishing third in the 15-runner field was Lake Forest sophomore Christian Reyes, who completed the 15 laps around the track in 9:30.37.
The top performances for the Forester women also came in the 3000, where junior Yaneli Guajardo was the runner-up and broke her own record with time of 10:44.00. Freshman Madeline Morland was third 10:45.19, which was also faster than Guajardo's previous mark.
Junior Anna Mollnhuber added a fourth-place finish in the women's 5000 with a time of 19:52.19 while classmates Audrey Pagia and Molly Gniady were fifth in the 800 in 2:28.03 and seventh in the mile with a time of 5:48.93. Paglia's time ranks her second in that event in team annals, Mollnhuber's third, and Gniady's fifth.
After a pair of meets at Ripon, Lake Forest will travel back to the same general area of Wisconsin next Saturday when the team competes in the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge.
