Junior Yaneli Guajardo was voted Forester Athlete of the Week for her performance at the North Central College's Cardinal Opener.
Guajardo earned a victory in the event with a time of 2:23.24. She ran a great race, coming from behind to overtake the leader and subsequently beating her by only three tenths of a second. She earned 10 points for the women's overall score with her placing.
The Forester women finished fifth overall at the meet.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
