Junior first baseman Riley Frisbie had five base hits, including a home run ad two doubles, as Lake Forest swept a doubleheader against visiting Knox College on Friday. The Foresters took the opener 4-2 and game two 10-4.

Frisbie's two-run singles capped off a four-run rally in the third inning of game one. Senor centerfielder Maria Zepeda led off the frame with her third home run of the season. Junior rightfielder Maddie Trost added a run-scoring single two batters before Frisbie's first base hit of the day.

The four-run rally was all the scoring the Foresters' could manage in the contest, although the home team threatened to score several other times and stranded a dozen runners.

Frisbie and Zepeda each had two hits and sophomore second baseman Shaye Gauthier three in the game.

Lake Forest junior pitcher Missy Dieckman-Meyer allowed just two base hits while striking out four and holding the Prairie Fire scoreless for the first three innings. Freshman Josie Klein entered the game in the fourth and induced 10 ground ball outs, while allowing just two runs in three-and-two-thirds innings of work to earn her first career victory. Dieckman-Meyer returned to the circle to record the final out and her second save of the season.

The Foresters were the visitors in game two and erupted for eight runs in the top of the second inning. Frisbie belted a two-run homer, senior shortstop Alyssa Grimm hit a three-run shot, and the other three runs were scored on hits by sophomore designated player Hannah Kalnicky, freshman pitcher Meghan Joyce, and Gauthier.

After Knox got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second and added a run in the fourth to make the score 8-2, the home team plated one on a groundout by sophomore pitcher Maddie Webb in the top of the fifth and another on a junior rightfielder Maddie Trost's second homer of the year in the seventh. The Prairie Fire closed out the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Frisbie was 3-for-3 in the contest and junior catcher Haylee Sherlund had two base hits in four at-bats.

Joyce allowed one run in the game's first two innings and just one of the three runs surrendered by Webb in the final five was earned. She was credited with the victory and improved to 3-2 on the year.

Lake Forest is now 18-14 overall this season and 11-3 in Midwest Conference play. Knox fell to 5-31 with one victory in 16 league games.

The Foresters are scheduled to play Monmouth College Sunday at noon in Janesville, Wisconsin, although weather may alter those plans.
