Sophomore Gaston Aubert scored his first two goals of the season to lead the Lake Forest College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Beloit College on Sunday.
Aubert's unassisted score at the 12:47 mark was the only goal of the first half. The Foresters out-shot the home team 11-3 in the period and put five of the 11 attempts on target.
Lake Forest doubled its lead at the 61:47 mark on Aubert's second score of the contest. Senior Ellis Rutili assisted on the insurance goal, which turned out to be the official game-winner when the Buccaneers scored less than four minutes later.
The Foresters had a 4-3 advantage in shots in the second half and hung on for the victory.
Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Tero Elias made a pair of saves in the game and earned the victory, which raised the Foresters' overall record on the year to 3-4-0. Beloit fell to 3-3-0 after falling in the first Midwest Conference game of the season for both teams.
League play will continue for Lake Forest next weekend when the team hosts Cornell College at 1:00 Saturday afternoon and Grinnell College Sunday morning at 11:00.
