Lake Forest College men's hockey player Scotty Nicholson was named to the USCHO Division III All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.
Nicholson recorded 10 assists in his freshman season and helped lead the Foresters to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 1991. The defenseman's plus/minus rating of +15 ranked second on the squad and he was negative in that category just three times while playing in all 27 of the team's games.
Lake Forest finished the season with an overall record of 18-6-3, the program's best mark in 29 years, and placed second in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings at 14-4-2 in league play.
