The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association announced its men's end-of-season award winners on Thursday and Lake Forest's Josh Giacomin was named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team.
Giacomin ranked sixth on the team and tied-for-14th among NCHA freshmen with 14 points on the year. His nine goals were the Foresters' third-highest total and he tied for 23rd in the league in that category. The forward recorded his first career goal and assist against Milwaukee School of Engineering on November 30 before tying for the team lead with a dozen points during the second half of Lake Forest's 28-game season.
Lake Forest has now had a player earn a spot on the NCHA All-Freshman Team three consecutive years.
The Foresters were 12-10-6 overall and 9-5-4 in NCHA play in 2018-19. They finished second in the NCHA South Division standings and advanced to the semifinals of the Harris Cup Playoffs before falling at Adrian College on Saturday.
