Albert Greene

Albert Greene

"The Midwest Conference holds its athletes to a high standard, both on the field and in the classroom. Being affiliated with this conference is about more than just playing football."
- Assistant Football Coach Albert Greene

Albert Greene is in his ninth year on the Forester coaching staff. The 2022 season will be his fifth directing the team’s entire defensive backfield after working with just the safeties the previous four years.

Lake Forest posted an 8-1 record in Midwest Conference play in 2022, claiming a league title and advancing to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the second year in a row. Cornerback Dante Esposito, who has nine career interceptions, was a Second Team All-Region selection by D3football.com while safety Trenton Brail, who returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns in 2022, earned third team honors. The Foresters led the nation in passing yards allowed per game (113.0) and ranked fourth in the country in pass efficiency defense (89.24). Defensive backs on the team combined for 246 tackles, including 14.0 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 6 interceptions, and 23 pass breakups.

Forester defensive backs have now intercepted 39 passes in 45 games with Greene overseeing the entire group. The unit has produced five All-MWC selections during that time, including the MWC Defensive Skill MVP in 2021. Prior to that span, Greene directed a Lake Forest player to First Team All-MWC honors in each of his four seasons as the team's safeties coach.

Greene is a 2006 graduate of Monmouth College, where he was a starter as a sophomore on the football team. He was also an All-American in the triple jump and Midwest Conference champion in the long jump and triple jump for the Fighting Scots’ track and field team.

Since graduating from Monmouth with a degree in communication, Greene has served as an assistant track and field coach and head jumps coach at both the high school and collegiate levels. He currently works with the sprinters on the Forester men's and women's track team.

Greene is also an internship specialist in the College's Career Advancement Center. He lives in Schaumburg with his wife Tiffany and children McKiah and Blaze.
