Big Return Day Lands A.J. Jackson on D3football.com Team of the Week

Big Return Day Lands A.J. Jackson on D3football.com Team of the Week

Lake Forest College wide receiver and kick returner A.J. Jackson was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in Saturday's dramatic 34-27 victory over Ripon College.

Jackson amassed 359 all-purpose yards in the game, including 235 on returns. The freshman reached the end zone on a 63-yard punt return in the first quarter and on an 85-yard kickoff return in the second. He gave the Foresters the lead on both plays, and did so again on the final score of the contest, a 28-yard touchdown catch with just 19.7 seconds on the clock.

Jackson finished the afternoon with a total of 123 yards on three kickoff returns, 112 yards on four punt returns, 118 yards on six receptions, and a 6-yard run. His 359 all-purpose yards are the second-highest total in the country so far this season and are the most by a Forester in at least 25 years.

He was also named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday.

The D3football.com Team of the Week is presented by Scoutware and includes a starting lineup on each side of the ball, a kicker, a punter, a returner, and an additional special teams player. Jackson joins senior defensive end Jordan McInerney as Lake Forest players to make the list this season.
