Lake Forest College's Jordan McInerney was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Wednesday for his performance in the team's 24-7 victory at Macalester College last Saturday.
McInerney tied for game-high honors with nine stops in Saturday's game, including 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. The senior defensive end was also credited with three quarterback hurries.
With 7.0 sacks and a dozen tackles for loss at the midpoint of the regular season, McInerney ranks tied-for-seventh in the country in both categories on a per-game basis. His 44.5 career tackles for loss rank third in program history and his 21.5 sacks are fifth.
McInerney leads the Foresters with 43 total tackles this season and is just 10 away from 200 in his career.
The D3football.com Team of the Week is presented by Scoutware and includes a starting lineup on each side of the ball and four special teams players. McInerney also made the list for his performance in the season opener.
