    Lake Forest hosted its annual event on February 16th, hosting 100 youth female athletes for their annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

    On Sunday, February 9, Lake Forest College Athletics along with Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) hosted the 10th annual “The Sleds Are Coming Again!” event at Alumni Memorial Arena.
  • Women’s Hockey Celebrates 20 Years on the Ice

    Women’s hockey at Lake Forest College dates back to 1987 when it began as a club sport. It grew quickly in popularity among the students, and after 12 years holding club status, in May 1999, it was announced that it would become the College’s 17th varsity sport.

  • Foresters Participate in 6th Annual Midwest Conference Canned Food Challenge

    The annual Canned Food Challenge hosted by the Midwest Conference just completed it’s 6th year of collecting non-perishable canned goods as well as monetary donations from each of the institutions making up the Midwest Conference. This year, Lake Forest College took fourth place overall in the final standings of the Challenge, moving up one spot over last year’s standings.

    Four alumni from the Lake Forest College women’s hockey team have taken their playing careers to the professional level. Allie Carter ’16, Michelle Greeneway ’16, and Olivia Spellmire ’18 competed for standout teams in Europe this past year and Amy Budde ’19 will make her pro debut this fall.

    Lake Forest College softball player Shaye Gauthier received the Midwest Conference Elite 20 Award for the first time in her career at the MWC Tournament on Friday, May 3. Gauthier, a sophomore infielder and pitcher, follows former teammate Kat Beall ’18 who won the award the last three years.

    In a profile featuring 2011 Lake Forest College graduate Matthew Helderman ’11, the former Forester hockey player discusses how the 10,000-hour rule played a role in the success he has achieved as one of the top producers in Hollywood. The rule is a commonly used reference that infers an unusually high level of commitment toward goal achievement and Matt was fortunate to have found two venues to utilize the rule in his life: hockey and media.
  • Rogers and De Courcy Recipients of the Ry McCarthy and Peter Taylor Award

    For the 24th year, the Lake Forest College men’s hockey team voted for the recipient of the Peter Taylor Award. This season the award was presented to Louis-Philippe De Courcy who for the past four years has carried the Foresters with his outstanding talent, leadership, and love for the game of hockey.

    When Grace Elizabeth Groner, a Lake Forest College class of 1931 alumna, passed away in January 2010 at the age of 100, she left a generous gift to her alma mater: The Grace Elizabeth Groner Foundation (GEGF). The foundation offers unique local, national and international service-learning opportunities to Lake Forest College students, while it also provides support and training to help students meet their academic goals.
