Meet at UW-La Crosse is Foresters' Final Tune-Up before Conference Championships

The Forester cross country teams competed in the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's Jim Drews and Tori Neubauer Invitationals on Friday.

The men's 8-kilometer race was first and senior Christian Reyes led Lake Forest with a time of 27:36.2. That was good for 154th place among 380 finishers. Freshman Michael Kurtz was next on the team and 217th overall in 28:19.63.

The Forester men finished 21st in the 23-team field. La Crosse was the team champion for both the men and women.

Junior Madeline Morland was among three Lake Forest women at the meet. She finished 19th out of 283 runners and her career-best 6-kilometer time of 22:46.37 is the fourth-fastest clocking in program history. Graduate student Audrey Paglia completed the course in 24:33.22 and placed 99th.

After taking next weekend off from competition, the Foresters will travel to Green Lake, Wisconsin, for the Midwest Conference Championship Meet on Saturday, October 30. Ripon College will host the event at Tuscumbia Golf Course.
