Foresters Take on Tough Competition at Oshkosh

Senior Jorge Villanueva added another entry on the program's top times list as the Lake Forest College cross country teams competed in the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational on Saturday.

Villanueva completed the 8-kilometer course at Lake Breeze Golf Club in 26:06.20, good for 51st place in the 344-runner field. It was also the 10-fastest time in team history and gave Villanueva half of the top 10 entries on that list. Junior Philip Wilson was next on the squad and 176th overall in 27:10.48.

The top finisher for the Forester women was sophomore Yaneli Guajardo, who placed 71st out of 349 finishers in 23:29.65, a time that ranks 25th in program history.

Lake Forest competed in the highly-competitive Pre-National Race at the meet, which included 50 teams. The Forester women placed 48th while the men were 36th.

After a weekend off from competition, Lake Forest will host the 2018 Midwest Conference Championship Meet on Saturday, October 27, at Foss Park Golf Course in nearby North Chicago.
