Izzi Visnjevac Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College volleyball player Izzi Visnjevac was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday after tallying 60 digs in three contests last week.

Visnjevac started the week by helping lead the Foresters to a three-set victory over Wheaton College Tuesday night. She tied for match-high honors with 14 digs, including six in the final set, and also chipped in with four assists.

Lake Forest split a pair of five-set decisions at home on Friday, falling to Benedictine University before defeating Elmhurst University. Visnjevac's match-high-tying 27 digs against Benedictine were her highest total so far this season and she led the team once again with 19 against Elmhurst. She also recorded eight assists in each match and served up four aces on the night.

Visnjevac raised her career dig total to 1,165 and moved into ninth place in program history in that category. She is also just three aces shy of her 100th as a Forester.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Visnjevac also earned the award once as a freshman in 2019.
