Lake Forest Unable to come Away Victorious in Tourney at Wisconsin-Oshkosh

The Forester volleyball team dropped all four of its matches at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh's Polito's Classic over the weekend.

Lake Forest fell in three sets to the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Oshkosh on Friday and to Edgewood College and Lakeland University on Saturday.

Junior middle blocker Madison Stevens served up six aces against Stout in Friday's tournament opener. Junior libero Izzi Visnjevac led the Forester with a dozen kills, sophomore outside hitter Mary Gegen with nine kills, freshman middle blocker Riley Stapley with four blocks, and freshman setter Juli Barrientos with 14 assists.

Gegen had nine kills again against the hosts later in the evening. Visnjevac tallied 16 digs, Barrientos 10 assists, and senior Hannah Kobienia four blocks.

Visnjevac reached double figures in digs again with 11 in Saturday's match-up with Edgewood, Barrientos had eight assists, Stevens eight kills, and Gegen four blocks.

Barrientos led the team in assists again in the final match of the weekend, recording a dozen against Lakeland. Visnjevac finished with 15 digs and Stevens led the squad with seven kills.

The losses dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 4-5.

Lake Forest will compete in Augustana College's Viking Classic next weekend, taking on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Friday night and Coe College and Nebraska Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon.
