Freshman Haley Bryant had a match-high 12 kills as the Foresters defeated Knox College 25-14, 25-18, 25-18 at home on Saturday.

Bryant had just two attack errors in 25 attempts for a .400 hitting percentage, the fourth time this season she has reached that level of efficiency.

Senior Olivia Rhodes led the home team with 11 assists, all of which came in the first set, and freshman Izzi Visnjevac tallied a match-high 16 digs.

Sixteen different Foresters appeared in the contest.

The opening set was close early, with Lake Forest ahead by just one at 9-8. The Foresters outscored their guests 16-6 the rest of the way, however, to pull ahead in the match.

Set two was similar with the home team leading 8-7 and then pulling away with a 10-1 run. The score was 24-12 before the Prairie Fire fought off six straight set point opportunities for the Foresters before a kill by freshman Kelsey Akins finally finished it off.

Lake Forest trailed 7-6 in the third set before turning things around with a 15-5 run. Knox closed back to within four at 22-18 but a kill by Donnelly, an ace from junior Allyson Richards, and a kill by Bryant closed out the contest.

The Foresters are now 8-12 overall this season and 2-3 in Midwest Conference play. Knox fell to 10-17 overall and 2-6 in the league.

Lake Forest will travel to Beloit College on Tuesday for a 7.00 p.m. match against the Buccaneers.
