Isabel Donnelly Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College volleyball player Isabel Donnelly was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for her performance during the team's five matches over the last seven days.

The Foresters competed in the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Tournament last weekend and Donnelly earned all-tournament honors. On Saturday Donnelly shared team-high honors with three blocks in a four-set loss to Luther College and led Lake Forest with a career-high 15 kills and five blocks, including 4 solos, in a five-set loss to Carleton College.  

On the second day of the tournament Donnelly had six kills and a .278 hitting percentage in the first match against St. Olaf College, which the Foresters dropped in three sets. Lake Forest then defeated Macalester College 3-1 and racked up 43 kills, including seven from Donnelly. Lake Forest scored the final three points of the contest with Donnelly serving, a run that included her fourth and final ace of the match.

On Tuesday, the Foresters picked up their fourth win of the season, prevailing 3-1 against Alverno College. Donnelly had eight kills and a .375 kill percentage on the night.

Donnelly leads the team with 29 blocks this season and ranks second with 74 kills an third with a dozen aces.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
