Lake Forest College volleyball player Olivia Smith was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead her team to a 2-1 record in the previous seven days.
Smith, a freshman, led all players in the match and set a new season-high with 15 kills in a three-set victory over visiting Illinois College Friday night. She also had 14 digs, an ace, and a block on the night.
Lake Forest hosted ad defeated Monmouth College in five sets on Saturday. Smith improved her season-high to 17 kills and added 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the year.
After recorded five kills and six digs in the Foresters' four-set loss at Beloit College on Tuesday, Smith finished her week with 37 kills, 31 digs, and a .219 hitting percentage. Her 152 kills on the season rank third on the team and she is fourth on the squad with 19 blocks and sixth with 125 digs.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
