Freshman outside hitter Olivia Grimmer led all players in the match with 10 kills but the Forester volleyball team was defeated 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 by visiting Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday night.

It was the second straight 10-kill performance for Grimmer, who also posted a hitting percentage higher than .200 for the second consecutive contest.

Sophomore libero Beana Yanovskaya led the home team with 11 digs and a pair of aces while freshman setter Hannah Nauert finished with a match-high 18 assists. Junior outside hitter Grace Larson was second on the team with five kills and 10 digs.

The Falcons won the first three points of the night and led throughout the opening set. The margin reached nine points four times late in the set and the visitors finished it off 25-17.

A six-point run to open set two gave Concordia Wisconsin the early lead again but the Foresters battled back and eventually tied the score at 12. The Falcons, however, won the next nine points and took the set by 10.

Lake Forest led by as many as four points early in the third set and were ahead 16-15 before dropping five in a row. The home team pulled back to within a point at 21-10 and 22-21 but Concordia Wisconsin won the next three points to finish off the victory.

The Foresters fell to 2-3 on the season while Concordia Wisconsin remained perfect after four matches.

Lake Forest will travel to Colorado this weekend for the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Volleyball Tournament. The Foresters will take on host Colorado College Friday afternoon at 1:00 (MT) and Carleton College two hours later. Their opponent on Saturday will be Coe College and the teams are scheduled to begin at noon (MT).
