Foresters Take One of Three Matches at Illinois Wesleyan

Senior outside hitter Paige Jespersen tallied 55 digs in three matches but the Lake Forest College volleyball team went 1-2 at Illinois Wesleyan University's Barker Chevrolet Classic over the weekend.

Jespersen finished with a career-high 27 digs in the team's 22-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-10, 16-14 loss to Coe College Friday night. Sophomore outside hitter Grace Larson was next on the squad with 14 digs and she added a team-high seven aces and 13 kills. Junior setter Lexi Kleva tallied 37 assists while junior right side hitter Natalie Olson led the Foresters with four blocks.

Lake Forest was defeated 25-19, 25-23, 25-9 by William Woods Universty on the team's first match on Saturday. Olson led the Foresters and matched her career-high with nine kills while senior libero Briahna Havis had a team-high 18 digs and Kleva finished with 25 assists.

The Foresters' lone victory of the weekend came against MacMurray College in their final match. Lake Forest took the first set 25-21, the second 25-22, and the third 25-16. Jespersen led the team with eight kills, 19 digs, and three aces while Larson added 18 digs and Kleva 13 to go with 20 assists.

Lake Forest is now 3-5 on the season. Coe improved to 4-3 and William Woods to 9-7 while MacMurray fell to 0-9.

The Foresters will travel to Wheaton College on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
