The Lake Forest College volleyball team came back and defeated Monmouth College 21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12 on the road Friday night. Forester junior libero Brianne Honda tied her career-high with 24 digs in the contest.

Honda has tallied 47 digs in the last two matches and she leads the team with 255 digs on the year, just six fewer than she tallied all of last year. Honda also recorded an ace Friday night and has at least one in each of the last five matches.

Sophomore Paige Jespersen led the Foresters with 15 kills and added 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Junior Bailey Everhart was next on the team with a career-high 13 kills and chipped in with three blocks. Senior Torie Pasiewicz finished the night with 38 assists, 13 digs, five kills, and her 99th career ace. Sophomore Briahna Havis also reached double figures in digs with a career-high 13.

Lake Forest's 52 kills, .287 hitting percentage, and seven blocks were their third-highest totals in each category this year and their 86 digs were a season-high. Those numbers helped overcome a season-high 15 service errors.

The Foresters are now 9-11 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Midwest Conference play this year. The Fighting Scots fell to 6-17 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Lake Forest will play at nearby Knox College Saturday morning at 11:30. The Foresters will be at home next weekend, hosting Grinnell College Friday night at 7:00 and Cornell College the following afternoon at 1:00 for Parents Day.
