The Lake Forest College volleyball team posted a 25-17, 25-17, 25-15 victory over Trinity International University at home Friday night. Forester sophomore Paige Jespersen led all players in the match with 11 kills and she added 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.

Seven of Jespersen's kills came in the final set. The Foresters were led in the second set by sophomore Brittany Avonts' six kills and in the first by Jespersen's three. Avonts finished with 10 kills, a .381 hitting percentage, and a pair of blocks on the night.

Senior setter Torie Pasiewicz tallied 23 assists and chipped in with eight digs while junior Brianne Honda led the home  team with 11 digs. Junior Erin Sully also reached double figures in digs with 10.

Lake Forest led 14-11 in the opening set before rattling off seven straight points to pull away. Trinity Internation won four consecutive points but the Foresters took four of the next five to close out the set.

The Foresters led by as many as 10 points (17-7) in the second set as well. The Trojans pulled to within five at 21-16 and 22-17 before kills by Sully, Avonts, and Pasiewicz finished it off.

A 10-3 Forester run in the third set gave the home team a 16-7 lead and four straight points later on extended the lead to 10 at 23-13. The visitors earned the next two points but a service error and a kill by Jespersen clinched the match for Lake Forest.

The Foresters are now 6-11 on the season while Trinity International falls to 8-8.

Lake Forest will begin Midwest Conference play next Tuesday night against visiting Beloit College. The contest will begin at 7:00 p.m.
