Foresters Split Four-Set Decisions on Day Two of ACM Invitational

Lake Forest College finished up play at the Associated College's of the Midwest Volleyball Invitational Tournament at Grinnell College on Sunday with a 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21 victory over Luther College and a 27-25, 29-27, 16-25, 25-21 loss to Macalester College. Forester sophomore Brittany Avonts had 27 kills and a dozen blocks on the day.

Avonts finished with nine kills and a career-high-tying seven blocks in the victory over Luther. Sophomore Paige Jespersen led the squad with a dozen kills three aces and added three blocks and a career-high 14 digs. Junior K.C. Wenson added eight kills and four blocks.

Senior Torie Pasiewicz led Lake Forest with 20 assists while freshman Lexi Kleva chipped in with a career-high 14. Pasiewicz also recorded 11 digs.

Junior Brianne Honda matched her season-high with 20 digs and classmate Erin Sully's 11 gave the Foresters four players in double figures in that category.

Avonts pounded out a match-high 18 kills without a hitting error in 31 attempts against Macalester. She was also at least a part of five if the Foresters' six blocks in the match. After tying her career-high in kills against Luther, Jespersen improved it with 13 in the Foresters' second contest of the day. She also served up three aces and finished with 11 digs.

Pasiewicz tallied 29 assists and Kleva 10. Pasiewicz also reached double figures with 10 digs.

Sully led Lake Forest with a season-high 18 digs, senior Taylor Bradbury was next on the squad with 13, and Honda matched Jespersen's 11.

The Foresters are now 2-10 on the season. Luther finished the day 7-5 and Macalester 7-7.

Lake Forest will play at Mount Mary University Wednesday night at 7:00.
