Lake Forest Finishes Off Tough Weekend at Elmhurst Invitational

The Forester volleyball team was defeated twice on Saturday at the Elmhurst College Invitational, falling in three sets to the hosts and Coe College. Sophomore Brittany Avonts led Lake Forest in kills in both matches and posted a .458 hitting percentage on the day.

Avonts had eight kills and finished with a .636 hitting percentage in the 25-19, 25-20, 25-10 loss to Elmhurst. Sophomore Paige Jespersen was next on the team with seven kills. Senior Taylor Bradbury led Lake Forest with a season-high 10 digs and senior setter Torie Pasiewicz tallied 17 assists, three kills, and seven digs.

Junior Brianne Honda had a team-high eight digs against Coe. Pasiewicz finished with 13 assists and Avonts with six kills.

Jespersen led the Foresters with 19 kills in four matches over the weekend and Avonts added 18. Pasiewicz recorded a team-high 57 assists, Honda 24 digs, and freshman Rebecca Lynch nine blocks.

Lake Forest will play three matches in next weekend's Barker Classic at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Foresters will take on Blackburn College Friday night at 7:30, Illinois Wesleyan at 10:00 Saturday morning, and Greenville College Saturday at noon.
