Lake Forest Drops Two to Start  2014

The Forester volleyball team was defeated twice on Friday at the Elmhurst Invitational, falling in three sets to both Carthage College and Luther College. Senior setter Torie Pasiewicz had 27 assists and six kills on the day.

Pasiewicz assisted on 13 of the Foresters' 18 kills against Carthage and recorded three of the other five herself. Sophomore Paige Jespersen led the team with four kills and junior Brianne Honda with six digs. Carthage took the first set 25-8 and the second 25-9. Lake Forest led 21-18 in the third before the Lady Reds won seven straight points to close out the match. 

Jespersen pounded out a team-high five kills against Luther and juniors K.C. Wenson and Erin Sully added four apiece. Honda had nine digs while Pasiewicz tallied 14 assists and seven digs.

The Foresters will begin Saturday's play against Elmhurst at 11:00 a.m. Their final match of the weekend will be against Coe College at 1:00 in the afternoon.
