Foresters Defeated at Nation's 22nd-Ranked Team

The Lake Forest College volleyball team traveled to Cornell College, the 22nd-ranked team in the nation, on Friday and was defeated 25-15, 25-14, 25-12. The Foresters will make the short trip to the Midwest Conference's other member from Iowa, Grinnell College, on Saturday.

The Foresters managed just 19 kills in the contest, with junior Sarah House and freshman Brittany Avonts leading the way with four apiece. Other team-highs were recorded by senior Victoria Drasler with seven assists, sophomore Brianne Honda with seven digs, and Avonts with four blocks.

Lake Forest is now 8-12 overall and 2-2 in MWC play. Cornell's victory was its 14th in a row and the Rams raised their overall record to 18-3 and league mark to 4-0.

The Foresters will play at Grinnell College tomorrow afternoon at 1:00.
