Benedictine won seven of the match's first eight points and continued to pull away for the lopsided victory.

Lake Forest had an 8-5 lead in set two but the Eagles took six of the next seven points to take their own three-point advantage. The visitors maintained their lead and reached match point while the Foresters still had 18. Lake Forest won five straight points to pull to within one but Benedictine denied the comeback bid by notching the 25th point.

The Foresters broke a 10-10 tie in set three with six points in a row and led by at least three the rest of the way.

Set four was tied at 11 before a pair of Benedictine points put the visitors ahead for good. Lake Forest kept the score close and fought off a pair of match points before the Eagles closed out the match.
