Dominican Ends Foresters' Five-Match Winning Streak

The Lake Forest College volleyball team was defeated 25-14, 25-21, 25-18 by visiting Dominican University Tuesday night. Forester senior Molly McCloskey led all players in the match with 15 kills and she added a team-high 12 digs.

It was the fourth consecutive double-double fo McCloskey, who has recorded at least 10 kills and digs in a match 11 times this season.

Lake Forest sophomore setter Torie Pasiewicz had 28 assists and was next after McCloskey with 10 digs. Senior Megan Trubich was second on the squad in kills with seven and she posted a .333 hitting percentage on the night.

Pasiewicz started the match with a kill off a set from McCloskey but the Forester lead was short-lived. The Stars were ahead 15-10 before rattling off seven straight points to take a commanding lead in the opening set.

Lake Forest fell behind early in set two but battled back and eventually took a 17-16 lead. Dominican, however, earned the next five points and held on to take the set.

The Foresters kept the score close throughout the third set but the visitors were able to gradually pull away to clinch the match.

Lake Forest fell to 11-6 this season while the Stars raised their record to 16-3.

The Foresters will resume Midwest Conference play Friday night when they host Grinnell College at 7:00.
